Bill started making custom furniture in 1974 and began woodturning in 1975. He has been a member of the Village of Yesteryear since 2001,  Janet helps with the design and finishing of many of the pieces they produce. She has ben a member of the Village since 2005.

Bill currently teaches classes at the NC Craft Center, Alamance Community College and at his shop in Northern Wake County. 'I enjoy teaching and the interactions with my students. That interaction with people is also one of the things I like about the Village of Yesteryear.  Being able to have a lathe at the Village and demonstrate my craft adds greatly to my enjoyment of time spent at the fair."
